Other than that, it was an amazing experience.<br /><br />I even discovered one very important thing: I can NOT have as much Manna Bread as I was having...It messes my stomach up! I had to cut back on it. I actually now realize that I am pretty intolerant to wheat.<br /><br />After the detox, I began buying rice bread because it is yeast free, gluten free, and wheat free!!!<br />I know what you are thinking...it's a little extreme, I know. But I have that with almond cheese and it taste good to me! - which is all that matters. Most importantly, I'm listening to my body.<br /><br />Brown rice and sweet potatoes also work well for me. I also found these snacks by Go Raw, that are amazing tasting and they are sprouted, organic, wheat free, gluten free, and yeast free. ( <a href="http://www.goraw.com/">http://www.goraw.com/</a> ) However, I have to separate a serving into a little baggie because they are so good, I may eat the whole bag!<br /><br />I don't eat more than 140 grams of carbohydrates daily. In other words extremely sensitive. I decided NOT to drink the pills which consisted of the laxative, milk thistle, and the fiber. The next day I felt better already. Like I have mentioned to you before, <strong>listen to YOUR Body! </strong>It doesn't matter what the instructions say, your body is a much better tool for knowing what you can and can not handle. </div><div><br /> </div><br /><div>I do feel more energetic, lost 3 lbs, not that i needed to lose any, but it's just the way it is...and many of my students who decided to follow along with me have lost anywhere from 5-10 lbs thus far. You can read their comments on the "Valentine's Detox" blog. And some have even posted recipies. </div><br /><div><br /></div><div>But, make it through the Detox, even if it requires you just to remain eating clean without any pills at all. Stick to it. It's only 14 days of your life. Your body needs the detox from all the pollutants that our environment exposes us to, the foods you eat, unless of course you eat 100% organic all of the time, and even then, it isn't really 100% just because the label says "Certified Organic". Think of a detox as a tune up. Your vehicle cannot run optimally unless it's taken care of. I know I'm being a bit repetitive, but at times repetition is key in order to really grasp it.<br /></div><br /><div>If you still haven't started the detox, I posted it just 2 blogs below this one. (Wow, that was a long sentence)<br /><br /> I love the Oscars! Sitting feels great right now, I must say.<br /><br />So I decided to write in between commercials about <strong>The Famous Detox Day</strong> in which over 70 people, which you could be one of them, are doing right along with me. <span style="font-size:78%;">(</span><span style="font-size:85%;">If you haven't read about it yet, you can take a look at it right below this blog.)</span><br /><br />I thought the eating part was relatively easy, considering that I already eat really clean <span style="font-size:85%;">(has taken several years to be as extreme as I am),</span> and my taste buds can handle things like Manna bread.<br /><br /> <strong>The only things I took out from my nutrition were:</strong>my dark chocolate, almond cheese, Olivio butter because they are all processed. <br /><br /><strong>Two other things I changed were:</strong> my decision to not eat out at all during these next two weeks, along with making sure that EVERYTHING is Organic. Not that I don't eat organic, but at times I have bought Natural chicken, or conventional blueberries instead of organic.<br /><br />I know that Organic cost so much more, but it is well worth it for the health of your body.<br /><br /><strong>You wanna know what I ate today?</strong><br /><br />1. Manna Bread with 2 eggs and 1 Yolk...Green Tea 20 minutes after.<br />2. Go Raw Snack made with Organic Coconut, Organic Date, Organic Banana, and Organic Flax seeds<br />3. Salmon Sushi (8)with brown Rice and avocado and slices of ginger on top<br />4. Organic Steak seasoned with Sea Salt, Pepper and Olive oil and a side Organic baby Romain lettuce, pumpkin seeds, balsamic vinegar and olive oil.<br />5. Whey Protein Shake- Completely lactose free!<br /><br />and ofcourse all my supplements throughout the day, and I also worked out in the morning for about 15 minutes.<br /><br />My body feels awesome!!! No Stomach aches. And Full of energy still at this time.<br /><br />I'm gonna' continue to watch the Oscars now,and actually, prepare for my Next 6 week Program that starts tomorrow, as well as plan out my meals for tomorrow!! <br /><br />Just wanted to give you a little insight, and hopefully encouragement. I do this about 1 to 2 times a year. My body is pretty clear on letting me know what is going on. I have become more and more aware of my body over the years, whether it is feeling tired, or my hip hurts, or I have a stomach ache. Your body says it all loud and clear, I believe the body is your unconscious mind-LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. <br /><br /><strong>2 Great Books to Help you with Your Detox: (Optional, but Highly Recommended)<br /></strong><br />One Great Book You may want to invest in for understanding the messages your body is trying to give you is: You Can Heal Your Life by Louise L. Hay. I feel detoxing has also to do with mind and spirit, not just body.<br /><br />The other very helpful book that which I will be using as my guide for this Particular Detox is The Detox Strategy, by Brenda Watson, C.N.C. with Leonard Smith M.D.<br /><br /><br /><strong>The reasons why I wanna detox are because<br /></strong>1. I always need to be as healthy as possible so i can help others do the same (practice what i preach)<br />2. I feel a extra tired lately and having lots of stomach discomfort...somethings not right!<br />3. I wanna get rid of my caffeine addiction which is partly due to me feeling tired.<br />4. I wanna feel My 100% self...full of life and energy<br />5. My sinuses!!!<br />6. I wanna look younger for longer!! Ha<br />7. Go to Grocery Store and Stock up on the following foods (mainly Organically grown) and Supplements:<br /></strong><br />1. Protein: Eggs, Chicken, Turkey, Whey Protein (best one is from <a href="http://www.americanwhey.com/" target="_blank">http://www.americanwhey.com/</a> it is completely free of lactose, very low on <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_11">carbs</span> and fat, and tastes like a milkshake with only adding ice and water!) or choose one free of lactose, wild fish (<span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_12">preferably</span> salmon).<br /><br />3. Krill or Fish oil caps(if allergic to fish chose <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_13">flax seed</span> caps)<br /><br />4. <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_14">Probiotic</span> with all strands mine is Renew Life brand<br /><br />5. A good Enzyme Supplement that digest <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_15">carbs</span>, fats, dairy, and protein...mine is E<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_16">nzymedica</span> brand<br /><br />6. Green Formula or Super Food Pill form for me, I dislike powder.<br /><br />7. Water!! Either Filtered or Distilled, avoid tap...and add lemon to your water( lemon is a natural stimulant to bile production and helps cleanse the kidneys) Drink half your body weight at least...if you exercise double that.<br /><br />8. All sorts of green leafy veggies<br /><br />9. Fruits low on <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_17">glycemic</span> index..I do mainly berries (blueberries, raspberries, ) but you can also do pears,peaches, plums.<br /><br />10. <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_18">Mana</span> bread is <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_19">ok</span>...it is sprouted, yeast free and salt free.<br /><br />11. Oatmeal is <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_20">ok</span>. <br /><br /><br /><strong>What to Avoid or minimize...<br /></strong>1. No beans, starchy veggies such as squash, yams, potatoes.<br />2. No coffee (if you are a coffee drinker ween yourself off of it with green tea)<br />3. No black teas either<br />4. No Dairy products (if you must include chose plain yogurt or cheeses such as goat or feta..use sparingly, no more than 1/2 cup)<br />5. No Soy except for in the form of <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_21">tempeh</span>, <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_22">miso</span>, or <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_23">natto</span><br />6. No alcohol<br />7. No mushrooms, broccoli, cauliflower, <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_24">Brussels</span> sprouts (can cause gas and bloating)<br />8. Doctors would recommend pills, but I knew there was a better way to get to the root of the problem...<br /><br />1. <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_27">Don't</span> drink with your meals, wait at least 20 minutes because it does not help the digestion process<br />2. add lemon to your water as much as possible, it helps with normalizing your <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_28">pH</span> and helps with digestion<br />3. Take an enzyme right before your meals<br />4. Eat Slowly to help in your <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_29">digestion</span><br />5. Eat Small Meals<br />6. She is one of the worlds best Children's Entertainer (Suzy Hammer..I love her...what a sweetheart! )<br /><br />The purpose of "The Treasure Box" is to bring these kids joy and happiness for Christmas by providing a <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">beautifully</span>, and artfully designed wrapped boxes filled with all kinds of toys. They would normally not <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">receive</span> anything-Can you imagine?!<br /><br />When I arrived you could smell, taste, and hear the spirit of the holidays. I felt so happy to be there because I knew that with my help (along with lots of other volunteers) I could bring children the joy and excitement they deserve for Christmas.<br /><br />The wrapping was done at a local community clubhouse in <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">Delray</span> Beach. In the entrance of the clubhouse there was a table with all the volunteers names on it, and two happy people eager to place it on your shirt. They pinned it on me, and asked if I wanted to wrap or stuff the boxes. I opted for the wrapping. As I got around the table and past the wall that was blocking all the action, I got even more excited seeing all sorts of people of all ages so active and dedicated, trying to get all 4,000 boxes filled, wrapped, and then boxed by the end of the day to soon be delivered for Christmas. </div><div></div><div></div><div>I must say i never thought I would have had as much fun as I did... I wanted it so bad, that there was no way I wasn't going to get it!<br /><br />If you try your hardest, I have found, there is no room for failure! It is my desire to inspire others to do the same...go for it, do it, take that leap, what is the worst that could happen?<br /><br />These past two weeks have been exhausting, but well worth it! The adrenaline was definitely pumping through my veins. I breathed, ate, and slept fitness phenom! It was crazy.<br /><br />I had to enter the contest quickly because there were only 2 days left before they closed off the contest. The thing is, I could of made excuses as to why not to enter the contest such as: Oh, its too late, there's no way, what if there is someone better than me, I'm a minority, etc., etc. But, I didn't. I came up with something quick, and submitted my first demo clip "6 minute Workout"..."Whoomp there it is"...I made it to the finals! Now I was competing against 30 competitors instead of the initial 100.<br /><br />I thought, "holy crap, now I only have 1 week to submit this. What do I do? Who's gonna film this? What is my fitness philosophy? Who is Coach Yari?" All of these thoughts were just going on an on in my head. I brainstormed... and brainstormed some more. I wrote all of my thoughts down, every time I had a chance to, including in between clients, in the middle of my not so restful sleep (because of the excitement), and on napkins as I dined out.<br /><br />And then, I went over my ideas with friends, and battled it out with one of my closest...he certainly pushed me. He pushed me to find ME and figure out what makes me different! There it was...I had an epiphany. I broke lose. I showed ME.<br /><br />My lesson? Don't be AFRAID to be YOURSELF!<br /><br />I also figured out the exact type of training I do to help people achieve their results! Voala! Core Training through Compound and Dynamic Movement-that's what I do! And, in a short period of time-literally, as little as 6 minutes!!!<br /><br />Now, getting people to vote, was next! A task, but Everyone was so supportive, it was amazing! I am so thankful for everyone being so helpful. Originally i thought of it because I thought about showing a strong, fit, determined and driven woman, who would physically go through sweat, blood, and tears to show her will. But the <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">photo shoot</span> turned out to be something else.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline;">Little did I know that this <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">photo shoot</span> would bring about enlightenment!</span><br /><br />This pic represents the complete <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">opposite</span> of my essence(lively, vibrant, energetic, loving, <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">lovable</span>, passionate, light). Your thoughts are that powerful. You want something bad enough and surely you will get it.<br /></p><p class="MsoNormal">There is a reason why some people are happier and more genuinely fulfilled than others. As both you and I know, there is no excuse for not working out. The day has too many minutes for you not to be able to get in a workout. Always remember that even if you can only do 6 little minutes of a couple of exercises, it is a lot better than none. Period.<span style=""> </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal">Here’s my story:</p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p>I had a very good day today.<span style=""> </span>You know why?<span style=""> </span>We’ll probably a reason that you might not be thinking of.<span style=""> </span>No, I didn’t go dancing, nor did I win any cash, nor did I go to the beach.<span style=""> </span>But, what I did do was help someone out. </p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p>I was working out at the gym and I saw this girl that I always see in there.<span style=""> </span>She is always doing cardio…at least 1.5-2 hours…crazy cardio. Either she is on the bike or she is on the elliptical or treadmill.<span style=""> </span>So I casually started talking to her and that’s when I found out that she does that much cardio.<span style=""> </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal">Anyway the reason that she does so much cardio is because she used to run marathons but she hurt her knee a while back and hasn’t been able to really run outside ever since. Salsa! It is so exciting, and wow, what a workout! I am fortunate enough to have a salsa instructor for a roommate. She not only gives me lessons, but we go out every Thurs and now Sunday nights to dance. I would definitely consider this my favorite cardio and core workout. On top of it all, it is fun, so it makes me want to do it for hours and I don't even know that hours have gone by. <br /><br />If you can get out there and dance, do it! It really makes you feel alive. But, of course, don't give up your strength training, because this is really what will continue to keep your metabolism going and it will keep your tone and definition. I can assure you that salsa and other forms of dancing is great, but I will also assure you that I will never give up my squats, push-ups, pull-ups, planks, or my <b>Get Fit in Six </b>type training--the best interval type of training I have created to really keep me in my best shape. This is why I don't fatigue at all when I go out there and dance salsa for hours. <br /><br />Don't worry guys; soon this will be available to all of you so you too can be in your best shape ever! So basically the outcome shows that for both women and men restricting fat intake was more effective than increasing exercise. Women don't lose weight with exercise alone...So it says. Men do get weight loss benefits with exercise alone. Weightloss is greater for women who increase their workout substantially or even moderately, and again this is with restricted fat intake. Men on the other hand who are restricting their dietary fat intake and increase their exercise receive a small weight loss benefit if at all. Interesting huh? Trust me reading this research article is no easy task, I had to dissect all the fluff they add to it. I literally had to write down on a sheet of paper women's results vs. Men's in plain English so I could better understand this "caca" myself.<br /><br />So what does all of this mean? I say exercise and eat healthier because again they are just talking about weight loss, not your body composition. In other words, they don't talk about the inches that you lose, nor the change in body fat %, nor how you feel. Both men and women will see a change in their body if they eat better and exercise more. Or you could chose to exercise more efficiently;) that's why soon I will have out my Get Fit in Six audio CD course. Happy belated Mother's Day to all the moms out there. But, since it was Mother's Day that means that it was really family day. Therefore, it was more likely to be a family celebration. At least in my case it was because my Mom had a BBQ at her place and I ate things that I normally would not eat, such as cheetos, "pastelitos", and a burger. So this means that I have to shape up this week. I will most certainly get back on my regular eating habbits and probably even take out 200 calories such as my almond butter that I normally put on my Ezequiel bread. I will also stick in an aditional 30 min of circuit training like what I do in my Get Fit in Six class, which involves a very intense full body workout. Oh, by the way, soon you will be able to do the same because I am coming out with my Get Fit in Six Audio CD course soon! I'll let you know more details later.<br /><br />I encourage you to do something a little extra this week so that way you don't set yourself back from all your hard work. Add 15 min extra to your workout if you have to. No biggie.
